Legionella Testing Kits comprise of thermometers and probe for carrying out quick and easy temperature measurements for legionella compliance. The probes used will be waterproof immersion type probes for robust probes for air and surface temperature measurement to check for growth of Legionnella bacteria.
It is the legal responsibility of all employers who manage buildings with hot/cold water systems and/or a wet cooling system have a legal responsibility to identify any risk of Legionella contamination or Legionnaire's disease and prevent and control it. Our kits come with traceable calibration certificates, probe wipes, protective case and notebook.

The Legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20 to 45°C, particularly if there is a supply of nutrients such as scale, rust, sludge or algae. Therefore cold water stores should be below 20°C, and hot water stores should be above 60°C and distributed at above 50°C.
Under the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) issued by the Government's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) every employer is required to carry out a risk assessment for exposure of staff to Legionella bacteria which includes legionnella testing. The code now applies to all hot and cold water systems in the workplace regardless of their capacity, This means that all employers and landlords who manage premises with hot/cold water systems and/or a wet cooling system have a legal responsibility to identify any risk of contamination and to prevent or control it.
